Sebastes chrysomelas (Jordan and Gilbert, 1881) (black-and-yellow rockfish) Inhabit holes and crevices in rocky areas . Found in intertidal areas and to 37 m . Viviparous .
Sebastes pinniger (Gill, 1864) (Canary rockfish) Adults hover in loose groups above rocky bottoms . Pelagic juveniles are found in shallower water . Feed on small fishes and krill . Viviparous, with planktonic larvae . Validated age by radiometry is 44 yrs . Flesh is of good quality . Sold as fillets .
