2011-08-06 - Ss Bremen (Shipwreck), Samaesan, Thailand

23.8m - 36 min - Dived with Pattaya Dive Centre

Located in the channel between Ko Khram and Sattahib, the dive site of the Bremen is usually subject to strong currents and trips out there need to be carefully planned. The ship sank late 1920 after a fire and explosion in the engine room and its wreck was later subject to demolition exercises of the Thai Navy which left most of its center portion in shambles. Penetration of the stern and the bow sections that are still standing is not recommended because of the frail condition of the wreck, but nevertheless diving the Bremen makes for an interesting and exclusive wreck dive.

2011-08-06 - Hardeep Wreck, Samaesan, Thailand

26.5m - 37 min - Dived with Pattaya Dive Centre

The wreck of the steamship Suddhadib (aka. the Hardeep wreck) is arguably one of the most exciting dive sites around Pattaya. Bombed and sunk in an aerial attack on June 1st, 1945, the Suddhadib now lies on her starboard side at a depth of 25-30m, north of the island Ko Chuang. The 2 large cargo holes as well as the boiler room located in the center of the ship are all easily penetrable and the cabins at the bow and stern offer grounds for exploration to more experienced wreck divers.

14.3m - 39 min - Dived with Pattaya Dive Centre

In the distant west off the Suddhadib wreck, Sharkfin Rock stands out not only as the character shape that gave it its name but also as an impressive dive site. Sometimes prone to strong currents it is not always possible to circle around it entirely but even just one side offers plenty of grounds to explore. The east side has more of a slope character whereas the west side features walls - all filled with rich coral and anemone growth.

2011-08-18 - Koh Krock, Pattaya, Thailand

11.6m - 40 min - Dived with Pattaya Dive Centre

Koh Krok is the nearest island to Pattaya, the corals start on the sand at 12m and extend right up to 2 metres so its great for diving and snorkeling, also an excellent site for drift diving as the prevailing currents run parallel to the island. Large “bommies” are a feature of this site; staghorn, brain, mushroom and table corals are in abundance as well as neptunes, barrel and blue sponges. The southern point is home to turtles, pufferfish, parrotfish and angelfish are plentiful. One section of the West face has an area covered with giant sea anemones along with the usual anemone and clownfish.
