Introducing the crew : Alex

Shared by Ksso on January 23, 2011 in Divers

Since I'll be writing quite a bit in that blog, it's time for some proper introductions! I'm Alex, 30, I live in Paris, France. I first dived in 2004 and got my CMAS 1* level after a week course in Hyères. The next year I made it to CMAS 2* in Golfe Juan.
In case you've not experienced the French riviera dive spots, they're far from being as dull as you might have heard/read. Although they're not as rich as the Red Sea or any coral reef, you often need to get around 30m depth to actually start seeing cool stuff such as moray eels. But if you can deep dive, then there's definitely a lot to see in the French Riviera area.

I used to dive with a Mares M2 computer but now I just got myself a brand new Mares Nemo Excel which I can't wait to try out ! I invested in limited gear but felt that having my own set of regulators was a must, along with finns and a shorty. I use a small compact Olympus mju:700 with a hand torch to take pictures. I guess I'll have to upgrade the camera some time soon since it's really giving average results.

I dived a bit in Indonesia (Bali, Lombok) and a couple times in Cyprus (lots of beautiful memories, but little of them include fish unfortunately - the sea life has been totally crammed by intensive dynamite fishing...)

My next stops are probably going to be the maldives and red sea.

Hope to be sharing more with you soon !
