Diveboard Feature updates: explore, plugin and navigation

Shared by Ksso on February 13, 2012 in scuba

This monday brings in a complete redesign of the "explore" page. The previous version did not reach its goal: letting users browse the variety of scuba spots and see what fellow scuba divers have experienced diving there. It's not perfect yet but definitely brings us closer to that goal!

The new explore should be fairly simple to manipulate with a large map showcasing the dive spots and a left pane listing what's on the screen: dive spots, divers who've dived there and dives logged in that area.

When clicking on an item in the left pane, an info pane will open giving you a summarized version of the element you clicked. If you wish to see more you may navigate away and see a logged dive within the diver's logbook.

Hopefully you'll find browsing this explore page as entertaining as we do !

Additionally to this update comes a new version of the plugin with support for the Mares Nemo HD and the Oceanic VT4 (amongst others).

We also redesigned the dive list pane in the logbook, breaking the separation between private, public and draft dives. They now all show up in the same list thus saving some troubling questions such as "where did that dive I just logged go?" - of course visitors will only see the public dives.
