Dived the Abyss. Pretty nice. Weather started to turn on us and vis was average but beautiful corals, nice fish. Drop off is really cool. Got in just before the storm came through.

Dived out near Mele with big blue. There were a few people doing a course so me an Louaki dived together. A nice bombie, we followed the drop off around at about 20-22m. Saw some small pelagic fish but visibility not great due to recent rain events I think. Then we moved on to the top of the bombie and spent 30mins looking at all the beautiful hard and soft corals. Schools of small fish were common.

Night dive at the cathedral off Pango peninsula. Started inside the cave which was carnage as there were quite a few divers including someone on a course. Lots of torches in eyes and people on top of each other. But in some of the cracks in the cave were some nice schools of flashlight fish. Also a couple of good sized groupers. We then went out of the cave and followed the reef around towards the PV harbour side. Some nice fish, squid and a big Moray Eel was swimming around Nish and me as we got towards the end of the dive. Shrimp with glowing eyes, worms and other fun night stuff were plentiful. There were some particles in the water which limited visibility under torch light. Surfaced to beautiful stars!

Professional, safe, fun
Big Blue is a fantastic dive shop with amazing dives. They have well-serviced equipment (though they are lacking in womens' wet-suits.) Their professional dive staff really know the area and are a lot of fun to dive and hang out with. Very flexible, stellar service. They also do a lot of work to protect the underwater environment through education, outreach, and regular clean-up dives. Being located in Vanuatu, they also have access to amazing diving. The crystal clear waters and amazing reefs are not to be missed.

Not a bad operation at all and the dive guides are very friendly as was the skipper on the boats I had. Only gripe would be that we were brought up very early and I had 100 bar at the end of one dive. I suppose they have to cater for people who perhaps dont dive that much . I would use again though .
