Makaha Dive Against Debris Day. Missed the first dive and the cert but still got to enjoy a fun dive afterwards. Went out to the usual track but wrapped over to the arch and the mooring ball after visiting the caverns.

2 jolies épaves pleinne de vie, de grosses tortues font la sieste sur le pont, un pointe blanche dort dans la proue du San Pedro. Une plongée profonde ou le guide est très agitée. Il remonte quelques minutes avant moi, il n a plus d air....

Everyone got lost on the first dive so I led the second dive. Followed the usual path. People did surprisingly well on air so after the caverns, took them over to the archway. Saw a huge crab inside the cavern.

Handy diving from Honolulu but with some points to consider

I dived with this company in mid February. I booked through an agent in our hotel lobby but you could probably save some money by dealing them direct. They picked me up from the hotel promptly and getting sorted with gear and admin at the boat was good too as they send you an email waiver to sign beforehand anyway. Boat was spacious and comfortable with a head and staff sorted out all gear with us just having to put it on. I am fairly experienced with more than 500 dives so was a bit disappointed on my first dive to be put in a group who probably were not as efficient on air as me or with same number of dives. Our first dive was fairly deep to a wreck at around 30 meters and for safety the group just got a quick look around the top of the boat before bottom times and safety brought us up after maybe 20 minutes in the water in total. I surfaced with 100 bar in my tank which is enough in other countries to comfortably continue for a bit longer. I guess people like wreck dives and this one seems to be popular with divers on the boat who had done it before. I would not be that big a fan of this dive site and would rather we had gone to a reef perhaps a bit more shallow and more time under water. The site is handy for sure but its depth limits time to explore. Second dive I was glad the boat crew put me with another group who seems to be more experienced and I enjoyed my dive with this group much better which was to a reef.Visibility was not brilliant but not too bad either and we got to see a turtle and a shark so pretty good although the state of the coral reefs which looked quite dead was anti of a shock. Dive Oahu are fine and I was left back at the hotel too which was appreciated. Gear was mostly OK too although my contents gauge hd a bit of an issue on the second dive which luckily happened near the end of the dive and was not a huge problem. I think I would suggest they serve hot drinks on the boat as we were out in winter and although its much hotter than other winters worldwide some people were definitely cold between dives and a hot drink may have helped in that respect. Surface interval was shorter than some operators I typically dive with in New Zealand but no ill effects came of it for me anyway. Overall a pretty good operation although I would like to dive better sites in Hawaii if I return. Would I do it with Dive Oahu. I think yes.

Great dive!

I had an awesome time today doing my free birthday dive. all the guides were knowledgeable and well trained. Had a good time with Mike. He has some great jokes that made the whole experience more fun. I'm recommending friends!
