Dive #4 of the weekend - the "Celebration Dive" of the PADI Wreck Course. Back to standard steel tank so added the 4lb back to trim pouches. Slightly feeling better (less green around the gills) during the surface interval. Liz not so much, so she sat this one out. This dive was our deepest (35m) and so my deep alarm was pinging like mad for about 5 minutes at one point. This was a 'follow the leader' penetration, from stern hangar bay through the ship, rising up through the ship to finish at the Bridge and finally finish off at the top mast before commencing safety stop. Interesting penetration dive - plenty of stuff still to see despite all the 'cool' military stuff being removed prior to scuttling. Buddied with Norm this dive. Hanging on the line at safety stop was not pleasant - VERY sea-sick, without ACTUALLY being sick. Took rest of afternoon in the sun to regain composure.

This was Dive #3 of the PADI Wreck Course. Here we penetrated the wreck, navigated multi-levels, multi-penetration, multi-turn, and practised line laying and retrieval. Liz was the lead diver in our buddy group and I was the line follower. Inevitably got a bit tangled up, mostly fins, but also managed to snag the occy on a line. Disentangled OK and completed the dive requirements. Conditions today were a bit choppier than yesterday and hanging on the mooring line and subsequent getting back into the boat and trip back to shore meant I was a little "green around the gills" for a while after the dive. Did recover (mostly) in time for second dive. Also today discovered I'd left my gloves back at the accommodation so today was a gloves-free day - a bit more careful about where I put my hands/fingers on the wreck. This was the last 'required' dive before gaining "Wreck Diver" cert - yay! Super-Steel Tank this dive so dropped 4lb (off the trim pouches) - STILL sank like a stone on entry - bloody heavy tank BUT so much air (260 bar)!! - even I didn't need that much.

This was Dive #2 of the wreck course, practising laying a line across the wreck, practising bow line, quick release, and following / leading / removing line. Good fun and a lot different to the dry land drills at the car park (gravity effects made some things easier and others a little trickier). Getting used to the reel and practising good buoyancy. Again, vis was great, and no current to speak of - a very gentle training dive.

Club Dive at Shellharbour
Really cruisey club dive. Norm and Rowan were typically helpful and welcoming to all divers. Met some club members for the first time and some of our regular dive buddies. Really enjoyable day trip, although we went down the night before. All divers went back to the pub after the dive for lunch and then a leisurely run home to end the long weekend.
