Joe's - your Sanur-based dive center in Bali
Joe’s Gone Diving is a Dutch-owned 5* PADI IDC scuba dive center in Sanur on Bali. At Joe's we want you to get the most out of your Bali diving holiday. That's why we have experienced dive staff, first rate dive facilities and go out of our way to make sure you have a fun and relaxing dive experience.
Who is Joe?
Let's start off with introducing ourselves first. We are Jan and Mirjam. We have dived all over the world, but were so swept away by the beauty of diving in Indonesia and in particular the sheer variety of diving in Bali that we decided to open our own dive center here. After having worked in business in the Netherlands and the UK for many years, we felt it was time for a life style change and do what we really love: share our passion for diving with others. We are both fully qualified PADI Instructors. And Joe? Well, he's gone diving.
Your time off is precious
Having dived all over the world and having led a busy life style, we know like no other how precious your time off is. That’s why we want to make sure our guests enjoy themselves and don’t need to worry about anything so they get more out of their diving experience. You will know exactly what you can expect when you book one of our scuba dive courses. For each and every dive we will do extensive briefings and de-briefings. For one because your safety comes first, but equally as important, diving is simply so much more fun if you can be on the lookout for that special octopus.
Caring about the environment
The marine life in Bali is absolutely stunning and we want to keep it that way. So we will always make sure you know what you can do to help to protect the reefs. You can also participate in one of the PADI AWARE Programmes or help out on one of our reef cleaning days. Joe's Gone Diving Bali has been awarded the PADI Green Star Award for its environmentally friendly approach.

Rescue Diver With eLearning: 2 Days/ 5 sessions
the PADI Rescue Diver Course in Bali
You’d think that it’s not easy to talk about accident prevention and management, and still have fun. But it can be. The Rescue Diver course at Joe’s Gone Diving in Bali is serious fun. It is an important and crucial step in expanding your knowledge and experience beyond a purely recreational level.
Depth: max. 9 m.
Duration: 2-3 days
We are going to teach you how to look after the safety and well being of yourself and other divers. You will learn to help prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies using a variety of techniques. The rescue diver course is good fun and builds your confidence.
The Rescue Diver course is usually combined with the EFR course.
Who can join
Minimum certification level: PADI Adventure Diver or PADI Advanced Diver
Trained and current for first aid and CPR within the previous two years or combine your Rescue course with the EFR Course
Minimum age: 12 years
Course Overview
In the theory part of this course, we will teach you about self-rescue and diver stress, diving first aid, emergency management and equipment considerations. You will practise 10 rescue excercises in both the pool and the sea. You will learn how to respond to a panicked diver, how to deal with underwater problems, missing diver procedures and how to surface an unconscious diver. You will complete the course with 4 different dive accident scenarios and will prepare an emergency rescue plan for a dive site. After successfully completing the Rescue and EFR course, you'll receive the internationally recognised PADI Rescue Diver certification card.
Dive Theory: from home or on Bali, the choice is yours
For your theoretical part you have a few options. The most popular one is PADI eLearning. This interactive, online program will take you through all the theory, videos and exams. You can start with this anytime, anywhere and at your own pace and time. Your course in Bali will be shorter and you won’t have to spend time in the classroom while you are on holiday. You will get a discount on our course price, but as you also have to purchase eLearning it works out a bit more expensive. Money well spent though…as you will have extra time to bring your course into practice and experience the wonders of the underwater world in Bali.
Another option is preparing for the course with the PADI manual only. If you book in advance, we can send you the link to the PADI digital manual beforehand so you can already start studying from home. Alternatively you can borrow a hard copy version of the manual from our dive center and go through the manual by the pool or on the beach 1 or 2 days before the start of your course. On average, it will take about 1 day to study the manual depending on how quickly you study. During your course you will then watch the DVD and write the exam as well as go through the pool and sea sessions.

Great service
As an individual returning to diving after a break, the team at Joe's were great. The experience was so good that I will be going back to complete more training with these guys later in the year on my next visit to the region.
