Diver's Notes

Wore 2mm shorty, used 8lbs need to up too 10lbs

Mahukona is an abandoned Sugar Plantation, once thriving it had its own port, now dilapidated and crops gone but drive right down to the old port and step off the dock into crystal clear waters with an abundance of bright fish right at entry point.

My first dive without a shop, and first shore dive. From the entry it is gently sloping so we went out and came back slowly no need for emergency stop.

Easy dive mostly around 20ft we did get down to 30. Abundance of coral, wreck parts and every type of fish. We saw a huge transmission with drive shaft and 6ft propeller. Giant docking chains and some other debris looking like boilers or such.

We saw nearly every type of fish I should think off, spotted one giant puffer fish, and a blue green star fish with lots of legs moving fairly quickly over the terrain.

This is a dive I would like to do again, we have heard tail of anchors, 2 boat wrecks, and sightings of turtle, manta, eels although we did not encounter any today. Would also make a great night dive.
