Diver's Notes

Drove south about 10k towards Marsa Alam and right off beaten track. We were only divers and our equipment waiting for us. Ahmed dug for crabs.
We did a comb search on seagrass looking for Dugong but saw instead a turtle and large wrasse. After about 25 mins headed for reef and saw loads rays, boxfish, lionfish, scorpionfish and lion on ledge, stonefish on hard white round coral. Trumpets, group of sand eels off reef, jellyfish atop, big porcupine about 1m, lyretail coralfish, parrots, big unicornfish, sponges, anemones, clams, clownfish in anemones. It was just like swimming in an aquarium.
