Diver's Notes

An excellent dive that could have ended terribly wrong due to a bad dive brief.

I was so excited to dive with sharks for the first time, I was not aware of my breathing rate, I check regular and it was fine until i got to 100bar i took a mental note and tried to slow my breathing down, I notified the dive guide who started point to - "at the time i had no idea at". Again I checked, i was down to 70bar i frustratingly started to highlight the fact i was getting low, again the guide started pointing at something i could not see.

I signaled I was heading back, and at first he looked like he was letting me go alone until i literally had to drag him.

On route back i signaled to his octopus and he shook his head and started pointing again.

Now at 50 bar I get to the safety stop at 5 meters and i notice a drop tank attached (obviously what the guide had been pointing towards) I switched air supply and finished the dive.

A number of lessons was learnt on this dive, the main lesson was "If the guide misses parts out of the brief, speak up and ask questions"
