2015-01-02 - North Point, Malapascua, Philippines

14.6m - 47 min - Dived with Gino Pelayo from Evolution

Sonia and me in our frst dive in Philippines. Big waves and rain, testing the gear for next dives in Malapascua. Buoyancy issues. Swallow dive, not much to see in this area, but the east of the island had bigger waves and this place is more protected. We spotted a small lion fish, white ghost shrimps, a medium black kind of lobster, clown fishes, a small box fish and nice big sea stars.

2015-01-03 - Monad Shoal, Malapascua, Philippines

28m - 46 min - Dived with Alex Gulfan from Evolution

First time at Monad, to see the Thresher sharks! We saw them, awesomeeee! Also a nice big fish as soon as we entered the water, and many sea stars. Monad is a submerged island, we enter the water on its top and go down to 25-30 meters on the wall, to arrive to the cleaning points were the sharks go every morning to get cleaned by small fishes. The sharks will then go back deep into the sea.

Second dive at Monad Shoal, with Sonia, Andrew, a Denmark couple and JoJo as guide. When the couple ran out of air they left with the guide and Sonia, Andrew and me stayed, going deeper and seeing a great Threser Shark, quite close and at the eye height, just in front of us, awesome!. Returned after seeing it slowly up and then towards the boat.

2015-01-04 - Lighthouse, Malapascua, Philippines

8.8m - 61 min - Dived with Gino Pelayo from Evolution

Sunset dive to see the famous Mandarin Fish. Swallow dive, we saw them, but because they are shy and hide when using lights, we did not use so they seem black, if turning on the light can see their real blue colors, beautiful. It was a group of 3. We also saw two octopuses small, a red crab and a few blue nudibranchs.

19.2m - 59 min - Dived with Alex Gulfan from Evolution

Awesome dive, calm waters, clear and a lot of stuff seen down there. 4 white tip reef sharks sleeping inside caves, a beautiful small yellow mourane, nice colored sea stars, white ghost shrimps,... The guide, Alex, with two guys emerged while Sonia and I stayed more time to see a great brown maurena, a big box fish, and a big group of medium size silver fishes above us. Finally we emerged a little far from the boat so I returned towards it diving while Sonia swimmed. A great dive!
