Unfortunately I was not prepared mentally for this dive and didn’t make clear the details regarding depth before entering the water. I did not clear my ears corrected - also started with 6 lbs instead of 8 - had to get extra 2 lbs from dive master. As I began to surface I heard a loud pop in right ear - not especially painful but very disconcerting. My ear did not clear the rest of the day although taking 1 Sudafed did help. Better by dinner time but at bedtime noticed bloody discharge from the ear. Turns out I had a blood blister on the eardrum. Cleaned out w suction by ENT at Curacao hospital on 1/16 and received antibiotic drops and nasal decongestant spray. Checked again on 1/19 and cleared to fly home
