Diver's Notes

Heian Maru was built 1930 as a large passenger liner (nearly 12,000 tones). Sunk on second day of Operation Hailstone, apparently burnt so hot the frame could be seen beneath the white hot metal. Was torpedoed and finally sank.

Was sister ship to Heikawa maru that is anchored in at Yokohama. And used to transport sub parts, still has periscopes and torpedoes in holds. There is a skull sitting engine room.
