Amigos Del Mar, Belize

The vision of providing a resourceful and fun-filled expedition to our Barrier Reef and other National Reserves was something that owner, Changa, has always wanted for his community. It started as a small family venture with the renting of the scuba equipment and booking small local dive tours. Then we slowly went venturing off to other natural and National Reserves of our country which included the Turneffe Islands and Light House Reef and not to mention Belize’s famous Blue Hole. We started off with only two boats and we have slowly been growing and currently in the year 2012 we have 12 boats ranging from 17 foot to 20 foot skiffs to our most prized addition 56 footer the “Papa Changa”.

Last dive of the day, we saw a big logger head turtle, slippery dick fish that build their homes out of coral piles, another lobster, danced with jason at the safety stop.

This was much flatter and calmer to get in, in amongst the mangroves, with lobster fisherman free diving around off of the little boats that came in on the bigger sailboats. We saw 3 big lobster, jason saw a huge lobster, a few really big grouper! Watched a grouper eat a lion fish off a spear, saw conch! And conch trails for the first time, lots of sponges and coral, also saw shrimp and little sea spiders,

Wall dive with huge corals! One big nurse shark, huge grey angel fish, French angel gosh, A few barracudas, branching cáase sponges, queen angelfish. Really really great diving. This was extremely waved and was afraid it would be hard to get into and out of the boat, but actually was quite easy. Fun once underneath. Saw a huge green moray eel!
