We saw the hawksbill sea turtle and some sea snakes surface during the surface interval.

Perfect sunny weather and no current. Several other divers stated that they were unable to dive the yongala on several previous occasions because the currents were too strong. We saw Goliath grouper larger than the divers, schools of barracuda, a bull shark, turtles, sea snakes... Everything! We went to the bottom of the ocean for our deep water dive.

Great day with a friendly crew
Yongala dive offers a fast 30 min boat ride out to the wreck. The divemaster grabbed the wrong size BCD for my husband (XS instead XL) but luckily they had a spare. We overall had a great day!

Great location, great service
My first time on the S.S. Yongala was with Yongala Dive. My buddy and I were required to join a guided tour group for our first dive, but our guide was happy to let us continue our dive on our own when the rest of our group sucked through their air and had to go back topside. The boat ride was a bit cosy, but very short and the feed when we were back on dry land was delicious and hearty.
