Diver's Notes

Final dive of AOW.
First genuine unsupervised dive with Isabelle as buddy.
Izzy and I planned a route from the higher deck, advised by Yasu and Katrina.
We set off unaccompanied armed with a compass and a mental picture.
A little confused at one point but back on track.
Sandy bottom with good new and established coral.
Some coral walls covered in algae south facing, but many species.
Strong currents as we neared the northern end so we didn't go round the outside but returned on the current.
Plate corals and other species, big walls on northern end and large well established bombies in protected shoreward sandy lees.
Successful dive - big boost in confidence.
