  • In 2004, a group of my military friends arranged a private PADI Open Water course. The course was offered through Outdoor Recreation on Misawa AB, in northern Japan. Our dive instructor was Ron Stark, a retired US Army man and the general manager of Outdoor Recreation. In 2005, I continued my development by completing the PADI Advanced Open Water certification.

Most of my dives have been in Japan. In the northern area of Japan, the diving is cold water nearly all year, but there are many nice areas to dive. In central Japan, the water is warm for several of the summer months, and the Izu region (south of Tokyo) offers some of the best dive sites. The southern island of Okinawa is great all year round, and offer amazing dive sites.

I hope to continue to dive for the rest of my life. I want to continue my development and qualify as a PADI Dive Instructor. I would love to train future divers as my full-time job. I plan to travel the world and dive many of the great locations.
