Diver's Notes

This was a dive to document on film the great efforts by 50 divers to clean up 9.4 metric tonnes of trash including everything from truck tires, empty bottles, Elvis CDs and chairs. There was - and still is so much trash at the bottom - we simply ran out of time - not garbage. There is really a need - not just in Smedasundet, but everywhere in the world. "People brag about how clean Norway is, but when you go 4 meters underwater, you see one of the dirtyest sights you've ever seen." - Åge Wee.

Nonetheless - the weight of 9.4 tonnes of trash is surely a Norwegian record, and when you think about the fact that the world record is for 15 tones, with 650 divers - it really gets you thinking what so few people can accomplish.

Great dive, and my first in quite a few months :)
