11m - 39 min - Dived with Ken Bell from Seven Seas Scuba

First dive of underwater navigation. We measured distance for kick cycles (my kick cycle count was about 41 kick cycles = 100 ft). We used compass navigation for an out and back and natural navigation and came back within 50' of the buoy. Natural navigation was easier if you monitor your depth. Ian ran low on air, so we had to postpone the square navigation for the next dive.

Dive #2 of the underwater navigation portion of the advance open water certification. Completed the square and came within 50' of origin. Briefly saw a wreck while navigating the square. Both navigation dives were off the right side of the pier.

My first night dive. A DM joined us on the dive, but I don't remember her name. Still having trouble with equalization. Dived off left side of pier.

15.8m - 32 min - Dived with Ken Bell from Seven Seas Scuba

Wreck dive elective for Advanced Open Water Certification. Explored one of the many wrecks at this site (off the left side of the pier, near the kayak) and saw an octopus under the bow. Reportedly, another was under the starboard side, but we kicked up too much silt.
