Species Identified

Heniochus intermedius Steindachner, 1893 (Red Sea bannerfish) Found on coral slopes Juveniles in large groups at base of reef, sometimes with H. diphreutes; adults usually solitary or paired, occasionally in groups . Feed on zooplankton and benthic invertebrates . Oviparous , monogamous . Form pairs during breeding .
Heteroconger hassi (Klausewitz & Eibl-Eibesfeldt, 1959) (Spotted garden-eel) Often found on sandy slopes below 15 m; withdraws into its burrow when approached. Usually in colonies containing up to several hundred individuals.
Parapercis hexophtalma (Cuvier, 1829) (Speckled sandperch) Found on sand and rubble bottoms of shallow lagoon and protected seaward reefs . Also Ref. 58652.
