First dive in Belize from Ramon's Resort - Hol Chan Marine Preserve in Ambergrice Caye, Belize Should have gone on the deeper dive. Current very strong swim back to boat, had to stick hand in sand and crawl/swim back. Saw a nice size reef shark, a 6' green moray eel, and a striped zebra moray eel.
Very nice dive outside of the barrier reef. Saw 2 big nurse sharks on the decent. Divemaster led us through some deep narrow canyons and caves. Was a little rusty with my bouyancy Met a very friendly loggerhead turtle about 4' wide. He swam right up to us and let us pet his head. Skin felt like a brown paper bag. He had barnacles on him older than me. A remora also befriended me on our accent and tried to eat my hair!
Nice relaxing dive on the border of the Hoi Chan Marine Preserve. Not much to see but your typical tropical fish. Observed 5-6 lobsters and a moray eel.
2nd dive of the day. Again a very quiet dive, but on the ascent we had a school of 6-7 nurse sharks swimming below us. One very large...about 7-8' long.
