2 House reef dives with Nessa. Lots of nice fish and coral. Big old manky looking tarpoon.
2 House reef dives with Nessa. Lots of nice fish and coral. Big old manky looking tarpoon.
Diving with Ken on early morning session. Saw an octopus when heading back into the ladder. Very nice and chilled
Lovely dive under the pier with conveyor belt. Great light under their and lots of brilliant fish. Saw a turtle when first swimming thru to the pier at the end. Only a little one though.
Back with Mark and lots of current when down at the drop off. Got a fly by from some dolphins. They came back later on in the dive. Some lovely coral and fans about with lots of nice colour.
Night dive on house reef with Ken and Dave. Followed by a big silver tarpoon the whole way around who was fishing with our torch beams. Even knocked my ear at one point he was so close. Lots of shrimp but no lion fish. Got bit lost coming back in so Had quite a swim to the harbour.
Early morning dive with Ken on house reef. Lovely light at this time of day and lots of fish out eating breakfast.
Long old drive through the national park along dirt tracks. Couldn't get in and out of water at most sites but settled on this one. Diving with Nessa on our anniversary. Really big drop off and not much current so felt quite nice down there.
Lovely dive from this beachy area. Family of 8 squid in the shallows pottering away. Spent most of dive hunting for sea horses but no luck.... Will keep trying!
Morning with Ken. Standard early dive on house reef. Big barracuda under dive boat.
Ken again. Two turtles. One at depth other in shallows.
Nice topology compared to other dives. Chris to dive with. Spent many years searching for sea horses.
Night dive with Nessa on house reef. Nearly had am ripped off. Shrieking galore at large tarpons circling us all dive.
Morning dive with Ken, Dave and Chris. Nice bimble. Watched a golden spotted eel hunting for food whilst a couple of wrasse watched on too.
Nice to get on some metal. Also very nice to be diving in shorts and tee shirt. Decent sized wreck with plenty to see. Couple of big tarpons in the holds. Swim thru on the lower holds and into wheel house then engine room. Back into the reef.
Again with Nessa. Lovely going around the wreck again. Off the hull was a massive green moray eel. Then spotted a pair of squid possibly in a meeting ritual. Up onto the sea horses searching zone and saw a spotted stingray swim past us when in the shallows. Nice dive and great getting on some metal.... Plus the first time I've dived a wreck in shorts!
Off into the wild side for diving. Reef so much more pristine and vast numbers of gorgonian fan coral over here. Also tonnes more bigger creatures.... Lots of spotted Eagle rays, a stingray and a good few turtles. Fun diving as a group.and being guided actually and being on a boat.
Second dive even cooler with a visit to the white hole. Over 40 tarpons in there plus the Queen conch hopping along. A good few Eagle rays too. Up onto the plateau section and swimming strategically with the surge.... Started seeing a lot of turtles. Then through into the cleaning station where it was turtle city.... Just have been over 20 in total including the one I saw missing it's front left flipper. Very very cool sight. Happy diver :-)
Turns out we didn't need to leave the house reef to get wrecks and sea horses..... 20 min swim and found both. Awesome!!! So happy to have seen a sea horse and think will be able to find it again with others. Big train of blue fish swimming alone in motorway style throughout the dive. Plus saw another golden spotted eel hunting.... Was pulling stones out of a hole to get deeper in. What a great days diving!
Just back in time from my run to head in with ken and Dave. Nice dive to see the seahorses.... Found the second one. Coming back in found an octopus. Lots of golden spotted eels hunting across the reef.
Much of the same as every where but a little pier for fuel at the airport. Man banging on hammer made funny noise underwater.
Long swim out in big surge. Nice dive overall though with a ray in distance. Spent lot of time looking at the little fish in this dive. Took ages getting back up to the beach and ended up miles away... Lol.
Epic dive. Such amazing stuff. Eagle ray flying over our heads. Nessa screaming. Few swimming green moray eels. Big tarpons hunting. Octopus hunting. Lots of squiggly little worms. Stingray eating in the sand. Needle fish in the top of the water column. Attacked by a barracuda. Squid dancing in the night. Totally awesome.
Ken Ali and Katie. Nice to see the reef going from dark and sleepy town into awake and hungry! Noise levels changed with the light. Loads of spotted eels hunting.
Back from kayaking around the mangroves and taking a very quick dip in on the house reef so Nessa could see the sea horse.
Diving with Nessa on our last day. Loads of big fish hanging around including a horse eyed jack looking very angry with a remora on its back. Big shoals of yellow snapper. Nessa couldn't be bothered with the wetsuit so just went in her rash vest and shorts.... Sadly she'd forgotten her wetsuit boots so went in marks sea does and flip flops as insoles.... Hilarious!!
Nice final dive!
