2018-09-17 - Anchor Bay, Anchor Bay Divesite Mellieha, Malta, Malta
10.4m - 62 min - Dived with Maltaqua
First dive in a while so nice and shallow. Went into a cool cave with a air pocket, and I took my reg out to speak, and shone a Torch. Very murky air, wouldn't recommend breathing... Popeye Village was cool. Charlotte didn't dive because she got hit on the head by a rock from a wall.

Dove with Dan as Tom was planning (Unknown at the time) to ask Charlotte questions Went North instead of south out of the bay. Lots of rocks and fish, but nothing espeicaly interesting. So swam to the other side of the bay (And made it), but time meant we had to turn around before re-finding the cave.
P29 Partol Boat Tom Lead to the boat. When we got close, dan decided to eat his reg, but fixed it after a short mess. The Boat was cool.
Shallower dive. Saw the Madonna and the gnome garden. I lead.
I navigated to the Rozi tugboat. I didn't end up in the shipping lane like Tom did. Navigating with 20+m vis is a lot easier then UK.
Did a dive around the Rozi enterence (didnt go to Rozi again). Went through a tunnel 3 times as I was navigating and the tunnel was cool. Managed to navigate back fine too. Needed to pee after the dive, but ended up being stung by 2 small jelly fish, after dodging the big yellow and blue ones.
Went to the Blue hole on Gozo. I lead. Went in through the blue whole which was cool, then around towards the coral garden. Went through a super cool crack that went up several meters to get to the garden. Garden was meh so went to a wall and found a giant cave which we went in. Had to turn around as we were getting low on air, but I took a very cool video of us in there.
Entered from the inland sea and went underwater through a 80m Tunnel, which was cool, and I messed about / took vids as Tom was leading. Went along the wall and passed the arch that no longer is. Was a nice wall dive. Near the end Tom found a Octopus, which I got a video of. Surfaced in the blue hole.
2018-09-20 - Blue Grotto Um El Faroud Wreck, Malta, Malta
30.5m - 39 min - Dived with Maltaqua
I navigated to the Um El Faroud. Decided to decend at the start to avoid Jellies, and swim to a "smooth rock" that I had written on the slate... Turns out this is above the water, so I winged it and just started swimming out when I thought it was right. Managed (somehow) to find the giant wreck. Went to the deeper half first, but we only managed to do this half due to air. The Wreck was super cool. Turned back due to air and accended to ~10m. Then my compas got stuck, so I navigated us in circles. Once I realised we had been swimming in circles for 5 minutes, I fixed the compas and navigated back. Turns out I didn't surface where I thought I was (It was a different rock) so we ended up with a ~5 min surface swim past 1000000000 Jellies. Not a good navigation.

"Ben rained fire and I saved the planet" - Tom Went west along the wall Tom went on a scavenger hunt for fishing hooks and bottles, and I found a Dead jellyfish with 100 Fireworms on it, and persuaded it to go and see Tom, while the fireworms fell off on its travel. Fun dive.
Navigated to the Tug Boat. Late afternoon dive before an evening dive. Wrecks are cool.
Dove with Dan, as Tom and Charlotte were doing other things on their dive... Night dive, saw the Madona and the gnome garden. Still realy like night dives, but it was at dusk so not as dark as it could have been when we went in. My torch was less then ideal, but dan's was powerful. Had glow sticks on our tanks, which were very handy.

Tom navigated to the Big wreck after my shitshow last time. Surface swam to the wreck with no jellies in the way. Much easier! Descended down and went to the back of the boat. Nice thermoclines. Tom managed to navigate back also, after we spend a supprisingly long time there (no air or Deco limits). (Only ~30m) At the safety stop, a random guy near us was on someone elses octopus after he had ran out of air.... but he was all ok. Much nicer experience. The wreck is very cool.
Dived with Tom at the bottom of a very steep slope. Slope wasn't actual that much of an issue in the end. I navigated (somehow) to the Crib, which was just a metal cut out... Sounded a lot better on the map. Saw some nice sized grouper, and a cool Eel was out in the open which I got a video of. Managed to navigate back, but passed a guy with a speargun. IT was unloaded though so qucikly swam by.
Tom lead a nice relaxing dive. Went East along the shoreline on a search for "stuff" I found a load of eels, and then I found some rocks that looked out of place. It was indeed an octopus that had put them there and it was in it's whole. Decided to see if it wanted to play with the rocks, but it did not, so we gave it it's rocks back. Lots and lots of eels. Fun dive, and very happy with the octopus spot!
Entered the lido and then "seeled" out into the sea. I tried to navigate a dive to some arches. Never found the arch, and didn't realy see anything for 30+ minutes. Ended surfacing after like 40 minutes, and I was a lot further East then I thought, but wen't back down as we were fine on Air. Navigated to a cool cave, then I found another set of out of place rocks with an octopus!!!!!! This one decided to play with the rocks for a bit. "sealed" back into the Lido, although I tried too early and the wrong place, and ended up cutting my leg a bit.
Went to dive 2 tug boats. Tom lead, and we followed the books guidance. I decided to go a bit further out to get a better look while Tom followed the sand line. After a decent swim I saw the outline of the boat, then looked at Tom. Tom couldn't see the boat being slightly further away, and suggested going home. I pointed that it was ~10m away and then we saw it, and tom navigated to the second one fine. Lots of cool fishes on the boats!
Dived the "mini blue hole" This is not easy to find!!! There is no path to it. It can just about be seen from google maps. Took us ~30 minutes to find the stupid site. Entered in the mini blue whole, which was realy cool. There was a >1m swell going on inside it which was super cool. The exit through the swell was cool also. Lots of urchents at the site, along with a lot of fishies. Nice relaxing final dive of the Holiday.
