40.4m - 62 min - Dived with Bali Crystal Divers
Deep training dive. We made condom balloons (very fun.) We also broke open eggs and played ball with the yokes. Was good fun all around. Lots of nudibranchs to see at this site too. Plus endless coral.
Drift training dive. Drank a coke at pressure in a current. We also made a chain of 10 dives, then turned that chain into a pyramid. Did some surfing on the back of eachother's tanks as well.
After diving the liberty on breath-hold dozens of times I finally understand the advantage of taking a tank along for the ride. What a beautiful bunch of hidden rooms and swim-thrus. Did some reel practice in prep for penetrating next dive as well.
Swim-thru party! Snuck into a lot of tight spots full of great things to see. Lots of nice marine life too. Blue stingrays, a big marbled ray off the bow of the boat. Napoleon wrasse. Nice juvenile fish as well.
Night dive on the Liberty. I won hide and seek by swimming into the middle of the wreck. Dropped in on a beautiful juvenile octopus. Saw a huge napoleon wrasse sleeping and a giant green bumpheaded parrot fish. Favorite bit of life was the world's fanciest decorator crab who had a few bits of feather star flowing above his head. He looked very '50s flapper girl.
Did a bit of a silt up scenario during a penetration at about 20m. Did an additional penetration at 10m. Silt up was quite wild, surprised at how bad that visibility can get. Always bring your lines. Nice napoleon wrasse hanging out at the end of the dive. Cool crab and shrimp all over the silt room. Found a nice swim thru as well at the bow of the boat.
Penetrated the engine room in the stern of the wreck, hidden in the corner closest to the entry point. Had to do plenty of duck diving to get my tall tall ass into the shrimp room on the other end of the stern. Was a moray in there as well, who didn't like my torch at all.
Had a search and recovery treasure hunt where we found a lovely prize: a cooler full of beer that we had to use a couple of lift bags to get out. Was a total mess though, great lesson in group control. I learned it is much easier to control a group of DSDs or fundivers than it is to control a bunch of new instructors. I was leading everyone to our third clue, hidden in the engine room, when everyone separated. I was left with only Javi, everyone else went to the shrimp room on the other end of the stern. Then Tak gives us a symbol that makes it seem Andy and Jim are lost in the room, after I found two more clues. When Javi and I went to look for Jim and Andy, the group separated again, taking my clues with them.
Two turtles (one w/ only 3 fins). Very nice coral and had a fun time watching Andy and Tak do their deep dive skills. Beautiful schools of bannerfish and moorish idols at this site.
Lovely cave with 5 juvenile white tips swimming around. Great swim-thru with a fun little surge in it as well. Also saw a very nice big cuttlefish.
