My wife and I, after many years of visiting Cancun, finally made time for a Discover Scuba course on our last visit. Loved it, went for three total supervised dives that week and were hooked. Signed up for our OWC as soon as we got home! Looking forward to many fun dives together in the near future!

Millbrook QuarryBack to cooler water. Finding weighting w/7mm suit, hood and gloves. Was light at end of the previous dive in 7mm at 18# so started with 22#. Way too much. Worked way back down to 18#, to find out tank was a neutral 100 tank... Will need to keep working proper weighting for this suit, as the near zero vis created some anxiety, along with digital compass issues. Buddy had some challenges with mask/hood so we ascended a few times to work that out. Still, finally a good dive in the end, following the quarry wall around to the North. Just a comfort dive, no real sights. Merged 3 shorter dives together from one entry into the lake.

Lake Phoenix ScubaFirst non-training dive. New 7mm suit and first time with hood and 5mm gloves. Started at 14#, upped to 16#. Challenge getting down to platform at 12', mostly able to stay at hover at 16#, until empty tank. Didn't have low air tank to do proper buoyancy check. Add 2# next dive. Sharp change in buoyancy at thermocline @ 15-16'.

Buddy's ReefSlept in today. Went with the current South towards Bari Reef. Deep start out, shallowrer return started before 1/3 rule kicked in. Lots of new coral and bigger fish at 35-45'. Saw a Spotted Eagle Stingray at ~30' on the return swim. Feeling more comfortable with deeper swims. Just need more exposure to them.

Millbrooke Quarry1st Dive Suit open water dive. Working on buoyancy, proper weighting, and getting used to the dry suit operations in the cold water vice the pool. Can you tell where I over inflated, my feet got above my head and I had to do a tuck & roll...? Need a different undergarment as this on restricted movement. - dry suit emergency action drills. Need to watch buoyancy, sank when overly focused on inflation valve/hose connection efforts. Bad juju.
