Diver's Notes

Stinky shore! We saw four vultures on the shore when we arrived, Carolyn and I are certain that there was something dead there.

This was my second dive with a dry suit and it went much much better than the first time. I was wearing a compression shirt but was a little cold. Some water came in from the neck when I was at the surface.

On the shore you can see a green buoy. Close to it there is a very small rope on top of the sand. From there, follow it for about 100 feet where you will need to go bellow the surface to continue. The wreck was 300 feet from shore. You arrive at the very wrecked and broken 19th century wooden side wheeler. The ship was launched out of NB in 1868 and was carrying passengers when it collided with a tug and sank in 1889.

We went all the way around and took some go pro videos. On the way back and near the end of the dive, we saw a massive white fish. It scared Carolyn quite a bit. We ended up fining the rope when I was at 2000 psi and heading back. I finished with 1500 psi.

Note: a boat passed above us and was very loud. Considering the ship is so shallow (30 feet), we need to bring a diver bellow buoy that follows us for the next shore dive.

Overall, my first dive with Carolyn alone and we had some good fun. Glad we made it out today.
