COZUMEL, MX A new wreck, down about two months. Plenty of swim-throughs. Large lobster moving along the sand approximately 50 feet from the wreck. Juvenile urchin and banded coral shrimp on forward starboard bulkhead, wheelhouse deck.
COZUMEL, MX Excellent dive! Leatherback turtle resting in coral. Israel (DM) nudged him out. Two large stone crabs fighting on coral. Watching the match was the best! Israel moved them inside and they continued to duke it out. Small 3' nurse shark in coral. Sue's first!
A lot of fun on this one. Israel redeemed himself. He brought down a jar of turkey and brought the fish out big time. By the time we finished, we had 3 large Nassau groupers and a bunch of the larger chubs surrounding us. Several spotted moray eels but the feature was a medium-sized green moray who liked turkey. Paul said he nibbled on my fin once when I was pointing something out to Wendy. Israel and I got up close. The moray must have wondered what my jar-shaped noisemaker was because he came close several times to get a better look at it. Good dive!
