Recently relocated to Sharm el Sheikh as a PADI Advanced Open Water diver. Looking to do my Divemaster out here. Doing some work on the web site for 'Diving in Sharm el Sheikh' in return for better prices on the diving and training. I mention that up front so you know I am linked with:- http://www.diving-in-sharm-el-sheikh.co.uk. I saw a post about information on Tank Reef by Sharmdiver and we had an article about it on the site, so I registered and gave him the link :) I just done the dive for the first time myself the other day. So we are both new to Diveboard and Tank Reef will be the dive logged on the board for both of us. So that's what brought me to Diveboard. I have to do many dives to complete my Divemaster internship so it will be fun logging them here to look back on my progress to Divemaster. I also have a blog regarding my move here and my training and experiences in Sharm el Sheikh (both diving and non-diving). It is at :- http://www.divinginsharmelsheikh.wordpress.com I also am doing my own web site at:- http://www.sharm-diving.comuv.com It is under development but please be kind if you visit it while it is not finished. I am looking to record my experiences here and now on Diveboard and particularly want to make new friends on facebook so please look for me.

Marsa Baraeka CanyonMarsa Bareaka Canyon olso spelled Bareika, Barieka, Baraeka or Baraka Canyon. Nice dive, not pretty at the beginning but spectacular reef formation. Not in most dive books = very special dive! More details at:- http://www.diving-in-sharm-el-sheikh.co.uk/marsa_baraeka_bareaka_dive_site_and_map.php

Tank ReefI heard this was an unusual dive. A bit of litter and scrap but Brits love wrecks and sunken things and the reefs in the UK are not that brilliant :) Anyway I had to do it as part of my training - and I'm glad I did. It is fascinating. Done as a drift into Electric station, the first thing I was shown was an unexploded landmine at about 12m, then continuing with the reef on the left we saw the first of the vehicles. There are over 20 Bren gun carriers and some trucks and trailers. I got some awesome photos. After you leave the vehicles and turn the corner into Electric Station the reef and wildlife get better. Thoroughly recommend the dive either as a first and new experience or for anybody interested in sunken things or military history.
