  • I got the scuba bug back in 2006, took a family vacation to Playa del Carmen and did a DSD with the resort. I was hooked from that moment, did a few more DSD's before jumping in to a certification. I grew up on the Colorado River so water has always been in my life. The wife and I were going to Aruba in 2010 and I made it a point to start my training so that I could do my open water dives there. So, in 2010 is when I became certified. We have mainly traveled to Cozumel, MX for our diving trips and personally can't get enough of the diving there. On a trip in 2012, I had been trying to get my wife to try a DSD. She loves to snorkel and I knew she would love scuba if she just gave it a try. She tried it and loved and just received her certification in Jan. of 2014. We are going to get our 13 year old certified over this summer.

    Playa Del Carmen

The reef is in real bad shape. It is overused by everyone. Very little marine life. Saw a very old turtle and some lion fish. Dove with Pro-Dive.

    Paso Del Cedral

Great dive, heavy current which created a great drift dive. The dive was full of marine life. I saw two nurse sharks, an octopus and huge grouper. The barracudas were plentiful as well. I rubbed up against some fire coral which now burns like hell. I spotted the second shark laying under a ledge and he was about 7' long. Scuba with Alison is great.

    Paso Del Cedral

There was a bit of current on Paso Del Cedral. There was a lobster fest going on. We saw lobsters everywhere! We saw a couple of turtles. While I was watching one turtle swim off I heard Keith make a sound in his regulator and I turned around to find him making the shark sign and pointing to a big nurse shark swimming away. I showed them a southern stingray buried in the sand. After taking a few divers up I came back down and discovered everyone looking at a big green moray eel. It was a very nice dive!
