2021-05-30 - Lough Owel, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland

12.4m - 50 min

First dive of the year, after 6 months no diving. Dived with Sami and Amjad. All good, but a bit of extra focusing needed on setting up gear properly. In the water at the second half of the dive legs felt too buoyant, trim was not good. At the end of the dive I had shortness of breath. Not much to see. Very few crayfish. We practiced some navigation skills, bidirectional swim with surfacing for orientation.

2021-05-30 - Lough Owel, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland

13.3m - 49 min

Second dive of the day. Sami, Amjad and I did navigation drill. Just a simple bi-directional swim (300/120º) without surfacing. Result was quite ok, we managed to return very close to the starting point. This dive was much more relaxed than the first one, although I still had the floaty legs issue (even with a larger air cylinder). We saw a gorgeous pike and a few crayfish.

2021-09-18 - Forty Foot, Dun Laoghaire, Ireland

12.2m - 30 min

Supposed to be a drift dive, but we drifted to the swimmers area too soon. Shallow end made us surface to look around and after that we decided to call th edive.

13.5m - 50 min

Legs slightly floaty and I experienced the same on previous dive with the same cylinder. I will need to figure out a way to move cylinder down a bit. Stumpy cylinder does not have much space for double bands to be attached.

15.3m - 56 min

Everything went well. Perfect trim with 12ltr 300bar tank, could swim effortlessly. Saw a few lobsters, huge shrimps and an octopus. A bit choppy on the surface after dive.

Conditions not ideal, a lot of swell. Decided to stay in sheltered bay and swim about. Got separated from buddies, dive was called off after surfacing. Seal encounter. Dived trio with Michael Herring and Dan (teacher).

Very nice site to dive. Depths around 20m. Large boulders, misterious atmosphere. Saw a huge lobster. Dived with Michael Herring and Joe. Joe was leading the dive.

2021-12-11 - Lough Owel, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland

10.9m - 22 min

The coldest dive so far. Dived with Adam Eppel, but in a larger group with Ronan, Morgane, Sami and Amjad. Adam had a leak in his dry glove, so dive was called early. I also had issues with octopus. It was freeflowing when mouthpiece cap was mounted. Dealt with the issue under water. Will need to 3D-print a better clip for my octopus. Surprisingly no fish or crayfish was spotted. Maybe because I was at the back of the group.
