Diver's Notes

Second shark dive at Montague Island (Sea Eagle boat dive).
Went straight down from
the boat and headed to the right of the island.
Found a huge set of rocks and stopped
there when we noticed the first grey nurse shark.
Within minutes, several sharks
sowly passed by.
It appeared like the sharks were slowly swimming in circles around
the rock.
Denis and I stayed next to the rock and kept looking for sharks.
Denis
started swimming towards the sharks, but I pulled him back as I didn't want him to
be bitten when there were just two of us in this area.

After what was probably
10 mins, we decided to swim around to the other side of the rock, when Denis almost
swam headfirst towards a shark!
After it passed, we swam to the other side of the
rock, then made our way back to the boat.

While waiting for Denis to surface from
his safety stop (I couldn't manage to stop myself from popping right up to the surface),
I had a good look at the ocean floor, which was clearly visible through the crystal
blue waters -what a sight!
Could see large rocks sporadically placed on the floor,
and wobbegong sharks resting on top of the rocks. This is one of the most memorable
dives I've been on so far.
