2013-10-18 - Dead Palm, Anilao, mabini, Batangas, Philippines

26.2m - 41 min - Dived with Wilson from Mayumi Resort

Beautiful weather at Mayumi Resort. First off, I'd like to say that the resort is pretty quaint. Peaceful and quiet, but maybe because we were the only guests, apart from a dive instructor and his student. The lunch was excellent, which is expected of most dive resorts in Anilao. Very nice visibility at the dive site, Dead Palm. At around 70-80 ft, there were yellow sea fans which serves as homes for Pygmy Sea Horses. Wish I had macro lenses for the GoPro! Our guide, Wilson, was an amazing spotter. We saw Golden Mantis Shrimp, Commensal Shrimp, Wrasse, School of Yellowtail Snapper, School of Juvenile Barracuda, and of course, Pygmy Seahorses.

2013-10-18 - Twin Rocks, Anilao, mabini, Philippines

23.8m - 46 min - Dived with Wilson

Again, we were blessed with great visibility! Saw a lot of Ribbon Eels. Mostly black ones, but we did see a beautiful blue ribbon eel. We saw lots of mantis shrimp running to their burrows, as well. It was my first time to see so many mantis shrimp out running out in the open! We also saw a stone fish, a trumpet fish, a moray eel (that was poked out of its house). But most importantly, we saw the School of Jacks! Amazing!

2013-10-18 - Mayumi House Reef, Anilao, mabini, Batangas, Philippines

24.1m - 51 min - Dived with Wilson

We weren't so lucky in this dive. Although the weather was still fair, and the visibility was great, we did not see the Blacktip Shark that can be found in the area. Not much to report except the usuals (lionfish, batfish, nudibranches, etc.) But we did see a pufferfish, and it was my first time to see a family of Squid! 3 of them! They were pretty far away (really great vis!), so I couldn't get a clear shot with the wide-angle GoPro.
