DM Training - Deep Dive and navigation - tagged along on AOW Course Deep Dive Course - large class Our group included D Craig, John Nicholson, C Flemons and I. The plan was to reach 60 ft then do 20 fin kicks out and back to a point (nav via compass). Christen and I had no issues, but John Nicholson went up to the surface when navigating. David Craig followed John, while Christen and I went back to shore. Christ was wearing he new drysuit and was underweighted. She fought staying down the whole time. Not only was she wearing a Luna BCD (less weight capacity) but she also was wearing an AL80 tank. We made it back to shore safely, as did John and David. No issues with me.

DM Search and rescue. David Craig lead DM Search & Rescue for Christen Flemons, Pat Boyle (finishing his work from last years DM class). Did search patterns to recover a "lost item" from Gulliver's. We worked from the Tri-City Platform. Everyone was able to properly execute a search and recovery of the item.

did short dive, the acted as shore support to watch for bad weather. D Craig lead 4th dive of OW Checkouts. Pat Boyle, Christen Flemons were DMT's that went with Rob Longridge and John Shier. Students did surface skills (cramps, tired diver tow, navigation then did dive out to the rings and back. Finally worked on buoyancy.

Dm Training with Dvid Craig, Christen Flemons and Emily Corrigan. did kick measurements from the Tri-city to Aquarius Platform (60 kick cycles for 50 m). We took the tape measure with us to practice measuring work. Measured the size of the platforms then went to the FNF platform and back for a casual dive. All in all a good evening. (as usual)
First of thee dives at the Welland Scuba Park. This was an orientation dive, as two of us, Emily and I, had not yet dove this site. We were accompanied by David Craig (Instructor), Christen Flemons and john Nicholson. Lots of artifacts on the bottom, along with many zebra mussels and silt.
Second of thee dives to map the Scuba Park. Mapped a lot. John and I did the objects (cars, etc.) while Christen and Emily measured the ropes and distances.
Christen and Emily finished up some measurements, while John and I addressed some other measurements around the "submarine". Unfortunately, John had issues with buoyancy and his understanding of direction and what to do.

dove with Halcyon Wing - buoyancy was good. Wore the 7mm wetsuit, and it was actually too warm! Dove with Christen Flemons and Jason Richard. Jason had just completed his OW Checkouts that previous weekend). Jason is a nice guy, but is very hyper and has issues with buoyancy. He has trouble staying down. He was on the surface two times as we went from the FNF to the Tri city platform. I would dive with him again to encourage his development. Christen worked with him very well. She will be a good instructor.
