This dive was a learning experience. My regulator use was leaking air which worried me. Then the dive ended up being more technical that I had thought. As we for deeper the dive got darker. You could look into the darkness of the deep and it caused me to hyperventilate. I surfaced quicker than I should have without a safety stop. I learned a lot….stay calm, trust your dive buddies, think about your dive before you enter and take about it in advance. I'll be more prepared next time.
This was a difficult day of diving for me. Clear Lake is beautiful, crystal clear, and cold. While the temperature did not bother me, the swim to the dive location was exhausting. We swam about 300 yards before going under. Me weight was not quite enough so had o have help going under after my take was lightened. All the energy used in the dive was well worth it however, as the water is tap water clear and absolutely beautiful.
