Diver's Notes

Dumaguete is the capitol city of the Negros Oriental province, nicknamed “The City of Gentle People” at Negros Island. A very educated city with 4 universities and a handful of colleges, Dumaguete’s student population is about 30,000 out of 113,000 residents total. Although, she is the capitol city, the development of city still very fundamental, road network minimum and the people lives with simplicity especially out from the town.

Our flight journey was more than 12 hours 6am from Pg-KL-Manila by MAS arrival at T1 and from Mnl-Dumaguete by Cebu Pacific Air at T3. Arrival time around 7pm due to some delau. The Dumaguete airport is very small, short runway, coming down from the plane straight away walk into the arrival hall and luggage conveyor and no much security/custom check. The airport is in the midst of the town, a small entrance leading to the airport site that you could miss if not purposely looking for that.

It took 45min van journey to reach our resort. This trip have 7 of us beside Tang, Gan, Samantha and Annie Koo, there was a new HongKee couple Otto & Sally whom at mid of 60s.

Our first dive was on the next morning, towards the Apo Island which is just half an hour boat journey from our resort. I like our dive boat design, the centre core base was narrow V, compliment with 2 spread wide wings cutting the water and stabilise the boat. These really make the boat effecient on water with a smaller engine.

It was raining during the journey, but
