Diver's Notes

Dived along the pier. At first i the current came in our direction the it changed going with us. I started to collect some fishing lures lying around on the bottom. I got my leg entangled in some mono filament so i decided it was time for the knife to solve the problem, witch it did.

After a while we saw a huge bag lying on the bottom - you can imagine what I was thinking, and by the look of it Linda had the same thought. We went over to it, flipped it around and opened a little, some brown sediment came out and we couldn't really see what it contained. We swam away for a while to let the sediment settle and then returned.

Upon opening the bag some more - MONEY!!! we pressed some bills in and zipped the bag up. Took a handle each and headed for the beach. That swim does qualify for one of the occasions that I've been really exhausted there simply where no energy left - the only thing keeping me from dropping the bag was that i didn't want to be the first letting go of it.

On the beach fist thing we did was standing looking at the bag whimpering over the excessive pain in the fingers when the blood returned - yup the bag was that heavy!

As it turned out, it was a collection of old coins and bills, mostly from Sweden. We took what we could carry in a little container as souvenirs - the walk to the car was simply to long, and with us being really exhausted we decided not to take the whole bag.

Linda later called the cops, they turned up at her door thinking it was Euros neatly wrapped up in plastic. They got disappointed and told her we could keep it.

A good story for our fellow divers if nothing else!
