Diver's Notes

Lankan manta point is located on the outer reef of Paradise Island Resort. It is one of the first discovered Manta Points in the Maldives. Manta season during the south-west monsoon which is from April to November. Durinng the north-east monsoon the chance of seeing Mantas is less. Nonetheless it is a pleasant dive site. There are 2 coral blocks which are the 'cleaning stations'. Mantas, often in numbers visit the cleaning station to be cleaned by small wrasses which inhabit the coral block. Divers can gathere bit away from the coral block and just observe the show that these magnificant animals put on. Although it is possible to see Mantas here during both ingoing and out going current, it is best to dive in out going current to see the Mantas.Apart from Manta Rays, it is possible to see a variety of schooling fish, black tip sharks, hawksbill turtle, napoleon wrasse, etc.
