Diver's Notes

TAKE YOUR TIME
The standard maximum ascent speed is 30 feet or 9 meters per minute. The first thing you have to do is orient yourself. Try to visualize your surfacing point. Take a look around, is the sea calm or not? Is there any boat traffic? Always keep an eye out for these factors; Your depth gauge and timer also need attention to make sure you are ascending at the right speed.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT SCUBA DIVING TIPS: STOP
Sometimes, for non-decompression dives stopping isn’t a requirement, however it is a general rule that you make a safety stop if your diving deeper than 33 feet or 10 meters. You can use the time during your stops to check your equipment, the surface and take a look around the beautiful underwater world before surfacing.

SURFACE SMOOTHLY
One of our very important scuba diving tips – Once your safety stop is done, you must go naturally buoyant to ascend. Maintain the neutrality throughout your surfacing. Keep the rate very slow and if you have to fin, do it very very gently.

Rotate on your ascent and give yourself a 360-degree vision of where you are. You may also hold your low-pressure inflator at the most highest point to release your air quickly from the BCD if you begin to surface too fast.

SURFACE CLOSE TO YOUR TARGET
Very important! Surface, if possible, right next to your boat or buoy! That will ensure other boats and transit in general will keep their distance. If you happen to not have a boat or a buoy, you can send a DSMB so you can at least give a fair warning to the vessels in the area.
