Much different than the Caribbean. Lot's of fish, towering Rock/Coral pinnacles. Site is not visible from the surface. Buoy line descent. Grouper, Bowl Coral, two large schools of Barracuda - hundreds in two big medallions of Barracuda. Amazing. Two sharks at the thermocline. Amazing amount of fish. Thermocline - much cooler - seemed like 4-5 degrees. Air: 90 F / Surface: 80 F / bottom: 75

Shark Dive! Eric used a empty water bottle to attract sharks. Sharks started circling as we descended the line. I noticed a scratch on my shin and thought perhaps they were coming for my blood. But it was Eric and the water bottle. We descended the line, but instead of approaching the reef, went out to the sand ocean floor away from the reef. Apparently sharks are more populous away from the reef. We had 6-8 sharks around us, we formed a triangle on our knees on the ocean floor and sharks swam between us. At least a 8 footer passed within inches of Jason. He was looking at me with big eyes, so I knew there was a shark just behind me too! Buddy breathing with Eric at the safety stop. This was also a nitrox training dive.

Triangle Navigation, Out and back Navigation. Very interesting shallow coral - like branches all across the bottom.

Lots of fish - hard to ID, but did enough to pass. Had to swim against the current on one side of the rock. tired me out.

Poor visibility on entry - No trouble clearing ears. Reference line descent. Good visibility once we reached the other side. Big Potato Grouper about the size of a volkswagen bug. Big Potato grouper was scary. I also experienced a territory issue with a triggerfish.
