This dive is south of Playa Del Carmen via speed boat. Some young fish - large school against part of the coral. Turtle was feeding in the sea grass. First live turtle for me. We did a rollback entry - my first. The water was warm, visibility great. No real problem with clearing. This is a drift dive with a light to moderate current. Tamara's regulator was honking away for a while.

We took a surface interval on a beach with no resorts close by. There was a fresh water cenote bubbling about 50 ft from the shore. The water was colder wading out. Lots of fish and able to see forever. Saw my first seahorse, a fairl large moray eel - green bugger, and a large crab. Saw a school of needle fish (tarpon) at the end during the safety stop. The current was stronger and the reef had lots of fingers with overhangs. Swam against the current a couple of times. A little low on air. Love taking the tanks off in the water.

Mama Vina is a small wreck off the coast of Playa Del Carmen, a little south. Not a lot of sea life, but some fish, As we arrived an swam along the starboard side, we saw a stingray swimming away and it swam back and away again. Some penetration into the hull and up a ladder into the pilot house. There was a an air pocket, so we bobbed our heads in and took off our masks for a few seconds. A lot of debris as we swam away and we followed a large turtle for a while swiming aft of the wreck. We also saw a forklift which must have fallen off a ship at some point.

Turtle dive - saw several turtles along with angelfish. Best reef close in to Playa with most aquatic life.

Nice close in reef, similar to first time on this site. Several barracuda today.
