Diver's Notes

5mm Full Wetsuit
Little over weighted
Entered cavern, and actually penetrated cave system to 109ft and all the way to the locked gate in the "Piano Room". This was against my better judgement and this won't happen again. Was very uneasy. One of the main reasons that I did do this against my better judgment is there was a very clear and permanent guideline and in addition to that there was a very large pipe that would provide easy guidance even in a no visibility situation. At first started in with 2 buddies thinking it would be a rather short trip in and back, then realized it was actually quite a ways to the locked grate and "Piano room". At the point that I realized this trip was much longer than I suspected, due to space constraints I didn't really have an easy way to get my buddies attention and state I wanted to turn back. So I chose to stay with the principle of safety and redundancy in numbers vs. turning back on my own. Once we entered into the Piano room we all entered the talk box, and I stated I thought we needed to head back. It was then that they told me the grate was literally right there and we would see it and turn back immediately. Still shouldn't have done it for other safety reasons but.... live and learn. I don't think Cave diving is for me.
