Diver's Notes

aka Wayne's Place

This was one of the more insane dives for a couple of reasons. The initial visibility wasn't good--maybe 30 feet. We saw a giant crab stuffed into a wall and then looked for the channel. It was a very long swim through that started at 28ft and had so many twists and turns that it felt like a cave at times. After 2 minutes of that (and thankful I was behind someone with a dive light) we came into a long column that had clearer water and we were at 74 ft. The top above us was partially closed but it had a ripping current. Suddenly, another diver named Fu lost his weights and started shooting up. Another diver John shot up and grabbed him and then Adam started to have to pull John down. After the drama, we had to pass through another bunch of swim throughs (with a fair amount of surge) and we ended up coming out of a wall. The visibility at the wall was over 100 ft. During this time, it became apparent that Fu lost his weights again (assume issues with his BC). The dive master had FU hold onto weights and swim back to the boat. On the wall we saw a huge sea turtle resting.
