24.4m - 45 min - Dived with Alson from Anthony's Key Resort
We weren't supposed to go to this dive site for our second dive, but the surge was intense and the visibility was challenging. For the first half, we descended down the wall to 80 ft. Saw grouper, large parrot, lion fish, giant sea turtle (3ft) and Queen angel fish. The second half was a semi-drift dive at 40 feet. Saw a 5ft nurse shark under a rock ledge, resting in sand.

28.3m - 30 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort
We descended into shallows, went down the wall and across to the wreck. It was a placed wreck that got beat up from a hurricane (maybe Mitch) and it is now in two big pieces--hull on its side and the bow is uprights ish. Not a lot of sealife. Adam started to penetrate the wreck but it was too cramped. The wreck sits at 110' on a Sandy bottom.
This was a nice long and lazy swim through dive. We entered the swim through at 80ft and came out almost 10 minutes later at 50 ft. Lots of beautiful and strange coral formations. This dive almost half way on the south side of the island on wavy seas. Rather long to get there (over an hour)
Finally had decent visibility! This was a mini wall before the big wall. Saw lots grouper, parrot, Sargent majors, a traffic jam of tangs (?) and a sea turtle. Minimal current.
First dive of AOW (wreck) Same dive as yesterday at 103 fr
Second dive of AOW (navigation) 2 eagle rays and a giant sea turtle
Third dive of AOW (peak performance buoyancy). Love this wall dive and the reef was full of life--2 sea turtles, Eagle rays, jaw fish, frig fish, lobster, bullet shrimp! The sea was VERY rough.
Shark dive! This was about 50 minute boat ride each way. We had to stand against coral at first and let the sharks come (we also watched the DM pet a grouper and a moray eel). We then swam with them for about 5 minutes--within feet of them. I counted about 10 mature and 1 juvenile Caribbean Reef sharks. Afterwards, the DM set down a bucket of chum and watched them whip into a frenzy. The currents and surge were brutal--we had to descend and ascend back up along the boat on a mooring line. The waves were 5-6 ft.
aka Wayne's Place This was one of the more insane dives for a couple of reasons. The initial visibility wasn't good--maybe 30 feet. We saw a giant crab stuffed into a wall and then looked for the channel. It was a very long swim through that started at 28ft and had so many twists and turns that it felt like a cave at times. After 2 minutes of that (and thankful I was behind someone with a dive light) we came into a long column that had clearer water and we were at 74 ft. The top above us was partially closed but it had a ripping current. Suddenly, another diver named Fu lost his weights and started shooting up. Another diver John shot up and grabbed him and then Adam started to have to pull John down. After the drama, we had to pass through another bunch of swim throughs (with a fair amount of surge) and we ended up coming out of a wall. The visibility at the wall was over 100 ft. During this time, it became apparent that Fu lost his weights again (assume issues with his BC). The dive master had FU hold onto weights and swim back to the boat. On the wall we saw a huge sea turtle resting.
