Diver's Notes

Viz: 0.5 - 25 ft (0 in stirred silt)
Thermocline @ 16 ft
GEAR: 1 x 7mm + Boots + 1 modified 60$ metal detector. Attempt at waterproofing by drenching all circuitry in 1hr dry silicon. I put so much silicon that it was not dry after 3 hrs (and then we dove)

Searching the base with modified metal detector. Having smelt silicone for 90 min just before, I was a little dizzy at the get go. The detector lasted ~ 10 min before leaked and stopped working.

Pat and I ended up taking turns scraping the silt with a large pool net. Viz dropped to almost nothing and I felt very disoriented and nauseous.

We laid down long aluminum flashing at the base to help guide us.

ISSUES:
1) It was difficult to stay clear of the silty base while keeping an eye on gauges and keep the detector coil leveled.
2) Felt dizzy and light headed until Aug 8th, mid-day..
