Diver's Notes

Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive #1

Sheila loaned me her watch for this dive.

Used a 100' rope to measure off kick cycles and elapsed time measurements.
Kicked 40 cycles and 37 cycles for 100'. Average is 38 cycles.
Elapsed times were 46 seconds and 67 seconds for 100'. Average time is 56 seconds

Used the sunken boat as the starting point for the skills demonstration. Used natural navigation to the dock and back.

From the boat, I dove a 100' box pattern.
I went 100' heading 300 degrees.
I went 100' heading 30 degrees.
I went 100' heading 120 degrees.
I went 100' heading 210 degrees. That brought me back to my starting point.
