2013-07-23 - Porto Do Calhau, Pico, Portugal

33.9m - 49 min - Dived with Karolin from Pico Sport Azores

Unexpected dive as I didn't even have a swim suit on me - but it was a prerequisite to next day's princess Alice ! Nice check dive with Karla checking that I can use a buoy to exit (I can) We met a richardson's ray and a stingray on the way and explored the depth of this spot .. And ended up swimming a lot to the port. Also met a juvenile moray, schools of sardines and loads of parrotfishes and wrasses and scorpionfishes Also at some point we must have exited the bay as we ended up caught in a very strong current so we swam a lot (hence the 0 bar at the end) but this was fun :)

Beautiful day for mobulas we waited near a barracuda school and a shoal of triggerfishes until they finally appeared ! Incredible encounter Plenty small luminous jellies too The mobulas are breathtaking totally worth the 3h30 shaky and puky trip

This time the mobulas were waiting for us - the moment I entered the water they appeared in my back and have cycled around us 5 or 6 times during the dive

2013-07-30 - Banco Condor, Pico, Portugal

8.2m - 43 min - Dived with Karolin from Pico Sport Azores

Beautiful and scary. We started by setting the "chum" in water - very high current, and scattered blood in the ocean ... to attract the sharks. Half an hour later they shown up and we slide in silently to watch them. Big, beautiful, powerful and flexible at the same time. good thing they didn't see us as food but just as weird stuff in the water. The weather was bad so I when up to f5.6 but that was stupid, I should have kept an f11 and increased the ISO. The 18-50 was a good option but I could have zoomed in more.
