2014-08-27 - Klein Curacao Reef, Klein Curacao, Curacao, Netherlands Antilles

Dove with Tonny and Peet from Belgium and Holland. Rented gear at Curious 2 Dive from Hans. Did this while on a sail to Klein Curacao. Saw a barracuda, green sea turtle, many eels, amazing colorful reef with great visibility.

Dove from a sail to Klein Curacao. Arranged the dive at the last minute with Curious2Dive as I was invited by 2 other divers to join them on the 2 tank dive. Tonny was Rescue Diver Certified and Peet was AOW. This was the second of 2 dives from the boat. Hans was taking 2 other divers lion fish hunting on that trip and we enjoyed fresh lion fish during the surface interval. When I am next in Curacao, I will seek out Hans and Curious2Dive to dive with and would recommend them to others.

18m - 41 min - Dived with Walter from Porto Marie Sports

Another beach dive out of Porto Mari. I dove with Walter, a dive master from Porto Mari Sports. It was a decent dive to the left side of The Valley from the beach. Walter hunted Lion Fish while a observed him and the reef. I was overweighted and should have been at 4 lbs. I did get lower on air than I would have liked on this dive. I notified Walter of the 1/2 tank and turn around, but he grabbed a few more lion fish. The reef was beautiful, but I liked the previous dive in this spot more along the right side of the valley.

2014-08-29 - Shipwreck Point Dolphin Academy Open Water, Curacao, Netherlands Antilles

6.7m - 50 min - Dived with Marigo from Ocean Encounters Curacao

Dolphin Academy in Royal Sea Aquarium, Curacao. Did an open ocean dive with a dolphin from the Royal Sea Aquarium. It was a great dive both for the dolphin experience and the coral reef that was at shipwreck point. This dive was done with Ocean Encounters of Curacao and they were extremely professional and would dive with them again for certain dives, but they are likely the most expensive dive center on the island. I was completely overweighted and should have dove with 4 lbs.
