2022-10-15 - Ras Nasrani, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
21.1m - 41 min - Dived with Nassar from Pyramids Diving Center
Pyramids Dive centre collected us from Magic World and took us to Ras Nasrani the Albatros Picklebrook hotel house reef. We were not expecting that, we thought we would be registering at Jaz Fanara. You kit up on the pontoon, bloody nightmare with all the hotel guests and the pontoons rocking motion due to the wave action. At the end of the dive Callum was feeling poorly and I gave him some travel meds and a orange in the hopes that it would help with the nausea.

22m - 43 min - Dived with Nassar from Pyramids Diving Center
We did our SIT time and the facilities are so bad you cannot even get a drink of water. You are pretty stuffed if you did not bring refreshments with you. This dive was no better with the pontoon rocking and loads of snorkelers. After this dive Callum was really poorly, nauseous and ill. We decided not to dive the next day. Wilson’s dive knife has gone missing and I had to dive with air because there was no Nitrox available .
2022-10-17 - Temple, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
18.9m - 48 min - Dived with Pyramids Diving Center
Took us to Jaz Fanara. We had to wait because our boxes were not there. There was another diver, who was from the hotel so he was ok to wait. When they eventually arrived Wilson realised that his dive knife was missing. I had to dive with air as there was no Nitrox. Just one thing after the other. We kitted up on the beach, snorkelled to the drop off and turned right and proceed I dive toward Temple.
2022-10-17 - Ras Umm Sid, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
21.2m - 52 min - Dived with Pyramids Diving Center
Second dive at Jaz Fanara, swapped the DM as the instructor already had a class commitment and because of the box issue could not continue. This time we went left towards Ras umm Sid. A better dive. This time I had Nitrox.

14.8m - 61 min - Dived with Sam from Pyramids Diving Center
Second day at Jaz Fanara. It was great diving with Sam again. He knows we like to stay shallower and take it slow so that we can take in the sea life and capture some nice photos. We dived towards Temple.
2022-10-18 - Ras Umm Sid, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
17.9m - 51 min - Dived with Sam from Pyramids Diving Center
Did a shore entry, walked into the bay and put on our fins then snorkelled to the dive site. Descended into a bowl the headed up over the reef and to the left. The dive itself was lovely, kept pretty shallow, just chilling over all the reefs and loads of time to inspect all the coral outcrops. Sam pointed out a crocodile fish and Wilson and Callum where taking photos when a free diver came down and lay against the reef and broke off a piece of coral, I mean wtf!! When we got back to the shop Callum realised that his mask and snorkel were missing. One of the guys at the dive shop kindly has loaned him a mask for Dahab and Tiran. Nothing on Wilson’s dive knife
2022-10-20 - Blue Hole El Bells, Dahab, Egypt
29.7m - 40 min - Dived with Mena from Pyramids Diving Center
Travelled to Dahab from Sharm via taxi. Pyramids diving Centre really went all out to host us by providing snacks, water and juice. We had a quick pit stop just before entering Dahab district. The area is very rural a bedouin/fishing village. We briefed at a local tavern called "Canyon" The group was introduced to the famous vitamin C drink (a fresh orange, ginger and mint drink) that can be consumed hot or cold . The tavern itself was very basic with carpet and pillows on the floor for seating. Had to pay EGP $ 10 to go to the loo, they were DISGUSTING!! Kitted up across the road. One of the dive staff took my kit up the road for me. Paid him 10 USD with a smile.
2022-10-20 - The Canyon, Dahab, Egypt
33.3m - 52 min - Dived with Mena from Pyramids Diving Center
What a surreal experience. We entered till waist deep and descended with a shallow swim of approx 2m slowly descending in the direction of the canyon (more of a fissure) you can only enter and turn single file it is that narrow. What an experience, I must say that when it became very dark I had to focus on the slither of light from above and at one point I kicked Wilson’s DV out of his mouth, fortunately he is strong diver. Overall it was not a comfortable dive for me. I was over weighted because there were not enough 1kg weights available and I donned the BC on the the way out in waist deep water and everything felt off. There was a school of rolling catfish and a huge pufferfish in the way out. We had a shower at the Canyon centre swapped into dry clothes for the last leg of the trip a visit to Ali Baba restaurant for much needed sustenance. Great food, great company. Got back to the hotel just before 7:00 pm.
2022-10-21 - Jackson Reef, Strait of Tiran, Egypt
26m - 39 min - Dived with Mena from Pyramids Diving Center
Early start again, headed to Sharks Bay Marina. Our boat being Venus. The swell was heavy going out to Tiran and I started feeling queasy, but eventually the Stugereon kicked in. We had our dive brief. We would head out from the boat descend and swim back to the boat. A beautiful dive and the banner fish did not disappoint. There are loads of divers though and it was really rammed. The one guy on our dive was ill and just decided to go off on his own. We caught Mena’s attention he dragged him down and insisted he use his secondary as he was on 50 bar. We continued shallow and ascended by the boat exited and prepared for the next dive.
2022-10-21 - Woodhouse Reef, Strait of Tiran, Egypt
24.1m - 50 min - Dived with Mena from Pyramids Diving Center
Never dived this site. It runs the length of the reef and has a huge wall that drops to 50m. This was a drift dive, we jumped in and then just settled at depth for the duration letting the current take us along. Did a 5m/3min safetly stop. Mena deployed his SMB and we surfaced waiting for the boat to collect us. We climbed in, de-kitted and had the most amazing lunch. Just chilled on the boat for the rest of the afternoon. On the third dive they saw a white tip reef shark ~1.2m long, apparently it was chilling under the boat.
