Diver's Notes

This was an interesting dive, although not really because of the wreck. There was very little of the wreck left, it was mainly the boiler, which was fairly intact, and a bit of a frame. As it was a mostly wooden boat this isn't all that surprising. The vis wasn't the best at around 10m for most of the dive, and a little worse at the end.

Still what was interesting were the salps that we saw. I'd never encountered one of them before, so seeing two on one dive was quite nice. One of them was reasonably large, at probably 3m long, and 20cm in diameter and other was a lot smaller. I first thought they were large plastic bags floating around until we got close and then I had no idea what so ever.

The area seemed nice, and I'd be interested in doing a bit more diving in the area around the drum sticks. Maybe next time we're at Jervis.
